Business Manager
This role will primarily focus on managing DELV’s financial process on a daily basis and will work closely with DELV’s outside financial consultant(s) to set up foundational financial practices and controls that will help drive our overall financial knowledge and future growth initiatives.
Areas of focus will include, but are not limited to:
- Ongoing daily, weekly, monthly and annual financial management and reporting.
- Bank Account management
- Credit Card management
- Line of Credit management/utilization
- Project Invoicing
- Budgeting/Forecasting (revenue and expense)
- BQE integration and optimization (management/ownership of the software as a whole system – including new project set-up, invoice processing and delivery, implementation of new features, etc.)
- Workforce utilization
- Invoice strategy for AR/AP (better transparency for partner and PM’s on what has been billed by consultants and what has been paid to them)
- Legal AR (keeping up with delinquent accounts and contractual terms)
- Firm Business Licensure (Indiana and several registered states)
- Overseeing strategic corporate financial changes
- Manage payroll through Gusto or another similar platform (to include salary/salary increases, benefits deductions, annual and spot bonuses, wage garnishments, etc.)
- Participate in benefits negotiations tied to budgetary planning process
- Develop and track firm KPI’s tied to the A/E industry (work with Service Delivery Lead to establish KPI’s)
- Manage DELV’s Asset Inventory (for Business Personal Property Tax purposes)
- Pay bills through Bill.com or a similar platform
- Data Visualization (use graphic software to display DELV’s financial health and KPI’s graphically)
With these areas of focus this individual should be able to provide clarity to the partners on a regular basis with regards to:
- Billings (% of fee to DELV owns vs % of fee to consultants) and tracking revenue to the annual target, including revenue projections or work under contract and pipeline projects
- Headcount optimization (based on revenue per person KPI’s)
- Budget Tracking (for decision-making tied to line of credit access, annual raises/bonuses)
- Legal (next steps with delinquent clients, professional liability deductibles, proper operational licensing in states where business occurs)
- Invoice strategy (communicating with project managers on project progress related to billings, what subconsultant billings have been received, and what amount of invoicing makes sense in a given month)
- General financial questions on the health of the firm
