In a culture where bigger is typecast as better, small firms can get stuck with a Napoleon complex. Do we even have a chance to compete with the resources and BIM expertise of the Goliath’s in our market? And if we do have a shot, what does an efficient and dynamic “BIM Environment” even look like for a small firm?
All good questions.
Think about what makes us unique as small firms. With fewer warm bodies to keep our practices running, we become meticulously skillful at hat-wearing. And yes, while hat-toggling can be exhausting at times, it does afford us a unique perspective into the broad view of the business. It forces us to be creative.

This starts with taking the time upfront to have a spot-on, efficient BIM environment designed specifically for the small firm workflow. It’s hands-down your top priority to get your BIM environment in order. Doing this one thing and doing it first, will save production time and yield greater gains down the road for your team. We will be delving in the “how-to” that will make an efficient, dynamic and resourceful BIM environment for your small firm in the upcoming weeks.
